A small fire started in the debris. Karissa made this picture that just captures the moment. Harry is reading the instructions on the extinguisher. Trevor is removing the leaves.

Fruit

The farming game is great to learn about borrowing money, you get promissory notes (Marc calls them sorry-notes). But fruit makes you more money then cows, different then real life.

This will be a 200' sausage

Marc made pictures from the cab of the harvester.

Fish + Laundry

Don't you just love these colourfull sheets?
We had "lekkerbekjes" at the Farmersmarket in St-Jacobs. It wasn't busy.

We like the way the farm looks from this angle. I finally could take a good picture with the cows in the foreground.

hydro

We started milking early for at 7.00 AM the hydro would go off. It was quite cool this morning, you can see that the roof and the fields white.

trash or treasure

Yesterday at the sale we aquired a box with "old stuff". It had magazines in it from the 1940's. All for the grand total of $3.

Soybeans

We took the soybeans off today. The head of the combine is 9 metres wide.

License please

We went to a farm Auction in our neighbourhood. To register for a number you needed to show your drivers license. But not everyone here drives a car. So I heard the office people ask: "license please" and when he said he didn't have one their next question was "name of the horse?"

spanish

We went to the Spanish church La Senda Del Amor in Toronto. These people have a church community that is very welcoming and warm. Rien got a hug from the pastor who was installed this evening. They also had great food. This is a lady from Ecuador who had made a recipe from her homeland. Most women were short so I was to tall to see myself in the bathroom mirror.

This was supposed to be the last picture taken yesterday of good beans for the forcast was frost. It was overcast so the beans are still good today.

Glen Alen

Going downstream was easy, upstream was hard, specially where we were going in circles where a tree blocked the river.

campfire

Last night we likely had the last campfire of the season. The temperature went down to 15C. We are having a beautifull Thanksgiving weekend!

fall

Every year I take pictures of the same tree when the leaves are colouring

This yellow plant was given to us by Jaap & Hennie in the summer before he passed away. We have to keep it indoors in the winter but it is a joy in the summer. Our friends Jaap & Pauline grow them for the wholesale market.
