Hooftrim

Monday and Tuesday were hooftrim days

always nice when it's done

it went fast this time

the field is dry enough so we're planting again

It's going well

but the clouds roll in threatening

radar doesn't look encouraging

oh well, another 20 acres of soybeans planted 24 more to go

then corn

Redwing Blackbird nests

there are nests in the reeds, this one has 4 eggs

Friday evening, forecast is 16%

never seen it this high

never before seen purple 

now we're getting excited 37%

a soft light 

the camera picks up all kids of shades

trying to take a picture of the big dipper

it changes all the time

Eagles

 

driving away from the nest around the corner we found this

2 eagles in a tree

we went back to the first nest

and above the road there was another eagle

still needed a strong zoom

such a majestic bird

look at these eyes

almost underneath the bird

this was a very succesful eagle spotting trip

Young Eagles

 

In a tree in this field is a huge nest

you need a big zoom to see anything

ther's 2 young eagles in the nest

the cattle is easier to photograph 

the nest is protected by them
