we walked on the edge of the forrest for a while

nice view

beautiful foggy pond

feels like home

sometimes through fields

some bush

some towns

love these doorways into enclosed yards

There's a rule that the patatoes should be harvested by Oct 1

totally weird, you should harvest them when they are ready

here they are late and it's actually to muddy, but they're going

we past the train station of Spaubeek

to walk to castle Terborgh

where we could drink and eat something

this shape of french fries container used to be the norm

resting

inside a few old decorations

we were allowed to see the courtyard

there we met a lady who showed us some part of this castle

that was fun

there was alittle chapel

It was newer

back in Valkenburg

we started our day driving to Valkenburg 

where we had coffee outside in the sun

walking towards our starting point

Mistletoe growing in trees, 

apparently normal for Limburg

we set a nice pace

Marl rocks are typical for this part of Limburg

healthy sheep, currently there's a disease going around

called bluetongue, it kills sheep (and cows)

it's spread by little mosquitoes

we met these friendly people 79 and 80 years old

they walk 8 km every other day

they took a nice picture from us, but I can't find it

almost at the end of this hike

close to the railway station

we wanted to hike to the Vrijthof, but it was 

quite a ways yet so we decided on ending our hike 

at the bridge "Servaas brug" with a drink

walking back we saw a "stumbling block" or

"stolpersteine" they are placed in front of houses

where Jewish people lived who were killed in the 

concentration camps, we saw several of these stones

we went back to Valkenburg on the train

first the wrong way, but it stopped at the next station 

to go back in the direction we wanted to go

Bottle lamb

 

we had our sheep checked for pregnancy

green definetely red either short bred or not

by one sheep the vet said that the lambs looked big

so this happened

a cute little lamb

a little earlier than expected

she's 3rd 

oldest cow ever to compete, and she places, that's

incredible

another contest worth seeing was this class

A contest between Footloose and Shakira

Shakira won

even at the end with all the champions

We spent time to see some cow classes judged

so many annimals in one class

must be super hard to judge

this was the winner

lots of pictures were taken

we took some of ourselves by the cow

spent some time at the trade show

such nice days

this was interesting Baumatic and Lely together
