New Isocells

The old Isocells are on the floor

We roll out the new Isocells out over the old

After folding it in 3 parts, we lift the Isocells in

We vasten all the bars

Now we let the air in

Weird that they don’t include new blower hoses

It’s looking good, finish fastening the bars and we’re done

Last day interior camping

We had a campfire with the sound of loons

sounds of Algonquin

our old tent still worked well
not leaking and zippers still work

our views from "our" island

time to go back

portage again, first to hot lake

next the poratage to rain lake

still super steep but way easier going down

snack time

load the canoe again

beautiful trees

we're at the access point

making our way to Kearney

The trees are so pretty, we stop a few times

We enjoyed our time on vacation

Hike on the backpack trail

Loons were calling on the lake

we went to a portage to be able to go on the backpack trail
part of it was on a rail trail

where the bridge was missing we got down to the water

so pretty

lots of leaves on the ground

we saw a very big bird flying
close to Iskhuday Lake

It turned out to be a Barred owl

According to the internet it's a very rare sight

trees are so nice

It was pretty slippery at places

lots of leaves

Rain lake to Islet Lake

start at the Rain Lake access point

Easy paddel, lake is not wide

It's getting warm

This is the beginning of the 740 m portage
It's super steep with broken stair steps
about a half meter apart, it's brutal

Rien tried to carry to much in one time

we sat down and ate a chocolate bar

then we tried to collapse the chairs and could not
it's way more difficult than it should be
we crossed Hot Lake

after another paddle and a 450 meter portage we came to Islet lake

we chose the one campsite on an island
It's more light and sun in the morning and in the afternoon

Our view

We hang a tarp and set up our very old tent
just because it's bigger than a hiking tent
they are so low you have to crawl into them

the leaves are beautiful

we had all the necessities for a good experience

the water in the lake tasted good

but we did use our filter
we added some electrolites for taste

and our coffee we improved with some special cream
