Prayer Room

I volunteered for the prayer room for Vacation Bible School.
The prayer room is redesigned with stations
This is my favourite one. "Write the Word"
You write a piece of scripture and also what you learned,
or what it means to you

Some other stations: Worship

Confession; you can write down your sins and put the paper
through the shredder

Worship and Thanksgiving prayers

Prayer for yourself and / or others

This week the prayers were geared towards VBS
but the stations will continue to be there;
everyone is welcome to come and pray for a while

Drayton VBS

Vacation Bible School

crafts, songs, bible stories, snacks

Outside: Water Games!
Tag with a spray bottle

and walking with a cup of water on your head

I asked Curtis to demonstrate and he did great
at the end he stood up and dumped the whole cup on himself

Show-Time

A last look at the calves and the boys
Olga came and brought the harness for the number

whoever made the decision that white clothing should be mandatory
wasn't thinking about laundry

Ready for the show

Both hands should look busy

The judge talks to all the kids
He asks when the calf was born, her name and her sire

Marc's calf made the first half of the group

William's calf came in second in it's age group

Hup Holland

4 years ago someone gave us this flag at our 25th anniversary
We are flying it again

Hup Holland Hup

At the Woodstock show I saw a lady with an orange leg cast
She must be Dutch

Hair

Hair is important at the show
not William's bed-hair

but the calves get a nice trim at the top line to make it look straight
with comb, hair dryer, clippers and...

apparently lots of black paint
look at her hands

an exhausting experience for Alpha

Woodstock Day 1

For the first time in my life I drove the truck with a livestock trailer attached
Rien was doing Hay

Marc washed his calf (Alpha) and went to 4 workshops
They learn about bedding, clipping, feeding and showing

The kids went outside to practice for the next day
Cassie's calf was a handful

This is the building (behind William) at the outdoor show
where the calves are housed

the calves have a good place, the people sleep in tents, cars or trailers
There is a tent visible through the screen, we were in a tent beside this one
