Cache Lake

We went to a program about Cache Lake

Cache Lake was the site of the Highland Inn
mostly rich people stayed there

but you wonder
the train was right in front

must have been noisy and stinky at times

The railway was very important until the trestle bridge was not safe anymore

the Highland Inn

Would have been fun to see some remnant

but the only things left are the cement steps

and the fire hydrant, not very exciting

The job has changed much for park rangers
they used to kill wolves, now they are studying and preserving them

The land rent for the current private properties has exponentially
gone up, to discourage private property in the park
also environmental rules are expensive for property owners to comply
and if people want to sell, the government will buy
and clean up and bring it back to nature
