Hop Farm

visit a Hop Farm

3 times 4 acre
sandy soil and hop needs a lot of water
9 liters a day per plant here, so 27 liters every 3 days

Very tall plants

different varieties
some have less potential for selling
but it takes a few years to grow, so you don't always know that

most hop varieties are owned by a company
that likes to keep it exclusive

Looks like a good harvest is coming up

the yellow powder is the important stuff

the plants lean heavy on the poles

the Hop harvester

shipped from Germany

being cleaned and prepared

the hope is pressed into pellets

preserved in bags

There is a market potential for the right variety
and a willingness to actually use Ontario Hop
