the Crave brothers
Mark Crave joined us on the bus
80 people work here full time
11 family members work at the farm
4 barns with calves
all in all out
a drain under the row of hutches
keeps the calves way dryer
driving between the silos
lots of tires to be put on the plastic
there's some marshes around
good land for permanent pasture around the farm
the anarobic digester
half the energy from the digester
is used to dry the bedding
the other half powers a generator
we didn't walk in the barn
tunnel ventilation
they milk 2400 cows
1100 at a different location

The Crave brothers make cheese too
Wisconsin is the cheese state
90% of cheese produced in Wisconsin
leaves the state
we got to taste some, it was good!
