Lawn bowling

My dad had his big surgery today from 1 in the afternoon until about 7 in the evening. It would be a long wait so he suggested that my mom would play a game of lawn bowling to pass the time.
(he was starting to fall asleep already at that point)
Anyway he's in intensive care and they think the surgery went well.

Don't touch the Hydro wires

One of the best stories we hear in the winter are the snow tales. Stories about how there used to be so much more snow and that children were warned "don't touch the hydro wires!". We usually look a little doubtful because record snowfalls have been recorded after we came to Canada. We think it is a change in snow removal equipment, deeper ditches and new (higher) Hydro poles. But we love to hear the old snow stories, we even have some ourselves.
