Look at these clouds, we are so thankful that we got 1 field (almost) done

Before the rain came down

Crops & Clouds

Almost every day the sky looks like this: a little sun, a little white cloud and some severe weather clouds so far the bad stuff has missed us and we are thankful for that

Last Soccer

The games were exciting

The weather was not

JanWillem & Jenni-Lynn

We went to the wedding yesterday, congratulations

We also know now why they bolt pews down in most churches. Koos & Henk B tried to unintentionally flip over our pew.

The Classifier came again

Rien cut our 24 acre field when the forecast was rain, but so is the long range forecast, you have to start cutting sometime. It threatened all day but we only got a few drops.

Job 26:8 He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.

Pre 4H - no stress, just fun

While the "real" 4H kids were all anxious about the topline of their calves
These girls sure didn't worry about that

Show time

This is FUN!

We planted a sweet and a sour cherries tree years ago, only the sour one survived. Sweet cherries remind me of my oma deVos. Her birthday was on July 10 and we would climb the tree in her back yard and eat cherries. Guess what we had for desert on July 10?

Oma is part of this great cloud of witnesses from Hebrews 11

Listowel Fair Parade

The balloons popped quite easy

You can win a prize for your float

Checking out the competition, they are good!

Woodstock Dairy 4H Show-Time

ready to go

Marc was the last one to go into the show ring for showmanship

Talking to the judge

Marc got picked to come back again for the finals 2x
Showmanship is how you show your calf
Conformation is how the calf looks

He was in the middle of the pack for both

Way to go Marc!

Set up for a Group picture

Woodstock Dairy 4H day 2 morning

After a cool night (3 sleeping bags was barely enough)

The boys washed all the calves and we had breakfast in the barn

Cassy grooming her calf

Waiting in line for the calf groomers lots of time to make a fun picture

Ashley clipping a "perfect" straight top line

Woodstock Dairy 4H day 1

We took Marc's calf to Woodstock for a 4H show event with the calf trailer we bought earlier this year.

When we arrived Carmen Marc's calf needed to be washed

Tied up with the other calves from Perth county

There was teaching on washing, filling and showing your calf

Practise run

Apparently there was a water balloon fight I missed it but Marc didn't

Hot Hay Hazard

Paul a volunteer fire fighter was at the farm and Rien asked him to check the hay we decided to call 911

We're listening to the dispatcher on Paul's radio

There they come

The fire chief checks out the situation

Filling up the makeshift pool with water from the pump truck

With all the hoses at the ready, Rien is pulling out the 15 or so hot bales

When they took off their warm fire clothing we assumed there was not going to be a fire. The guy with the heat gun said the hay was 200C another day or 2 and it could have been real hot

Cleaning up the hoses again

Thanks to the Palmerston Fire department
