the winter wheat is off

Monday at noon the combine appeared

first it had some minor trouble

but soon it worked

the weather stayed good

straw was made into bales

and loaded

the combine went to the farm
where it slowed down considerably
so much more straw there,
and some wheat was hanging down

keep driving straw to the William's farm

put as many in as possible
even from the side

now waiting for 3 dry days in a row to start
the straw at the farm

Ron says: before you bring it in

Barn

The cows are happy with fresh feed

6 calves on bottle milk, that's quite a bit
the older calves go on the milk feeder

Soil your Undies

60 days ago something was berried here

going to dig it up

kind of hard to find in between the beans

something is here

the first one is found

3 pair of underwear were berried 60 days ago
if the soil is healthy not much should be left

next one is a no-till bean field

and barely anything left in the corn no-till

from left to right
no-till for 12 years - corn
no-till for 8 years - beans
tilled field - beans

we were most surprised how healthy the
field is that was tilled

Arrowhead 3

 A rainy afternoon

we set up the table and chairs inside

usually we're just outside

but this was a lot of rain

It stopped

so we had supper outside

and after scooping all the water out of the firepit
we had a campfire
