Metcalfe side trail

Lunch, at left a peak we just descended from

and the next peak we are going to

there is a trail around that's easy

but the difficult route is so much more fun

it takes more effort when you're shorter

Tris with his long legs had no problem at all

You could feel the cold

other people told us they'd still found ice in the caves

cool braided tree

almost there

In July some beef animals from the neighbour 8km away went missing

1 showed up at our farm and was returned, as of yesterday
still 8 missing, but he has a general idea where they are

Dig up the feeding Alley

The feeding alley for the goats is disappearing

swinging the excavator

he's having fun

piling the cement
It will be a very useful coverall

Summer Pasture

For the dry cows and pregnant heifers
the door to the pasture is almost always open

But see where they are, inside!
Cows like cool weather and will stay inside
even when the door is open

they wait until late in the afternoon
then they go out
