Blizzard

Thankful to be an early pick-up on his route

we look forward to sitting in here again

but the weather needs to change first

Rien took this picture beside the barn

the wind is doing it's best to remake the drift

So cold and miserable 

we went to play cards, no problem going out

the return was a different story

got stuck in the driveway, doesn't happen often with the truck

So Rien went out to blow snow late in the evening

this way Marc could get out to drive the snow plow before 4 AM

not to bad in the yard

but the effects of the blowing wind 

makes it bare with drifts

Quiet before the storm

we had some nice days

sunshine and melting snow

but lots of snow and wind is in the forecast

Barn Quilts

we have to continue next week

but progress was made

Barn Quilt

We are making a barn quilt, a wooden decoration for a barn

I like this one

So you start with drawing the design on the pressure treated plywood

taping the edges

first layer of paint is drying near the woodstove

this one was trickier, 2 sheets of plywood

but better visual from a distance 

the blue paint (above the woodstove) took very

long to dry

it will take a few more days to finish

Marc's Birthday

we celebrated Marc's birthday

playing games, with Stephen too

and sledding on the hill with everyone except me

so no pictures

and a quick trip to the barn

we spent time with the calves

teaching the kids patience and "let them come to you"

the cat loves people

but you still have to be quick to pet her
