I took these through the window

this girl was first to go out to the pile

the others followed

so cold! I didn't join

it's nice to have a snow-pile

fun to play with

 

Fire Clean-Up

 

quite a few loads of burned steel

the neighbours came together for clean-up

the tractor in the background was outside, 

but to close to the fire

We live in a good neighbourhood 

where people help each other

we noticed smoke

coming form the Hartung Farm

looked like a big fire

fire trucks arrived

lots of flames

firetrucks driving off and on

 

Henk

in 1992 we had a summer student from Holland

His name was Henk

in 2017 he visited with his wife

she even bred some of our cows

yesterday we saw his funeral on YouTube

he died of Leukemia 

so sad

Rien turned 64 today

Corinne made him a cake

Road section

 

some of us had wet feet after the snow

but some clean socks and plastic bags sofved that problem

It was pretty, most of the time sunny

later more clouds and cooler

I remembered this house from earlier

looked different on September 20 2012

The first time we went past this place

Bayview escarpment to Irish block road

start at Bayview Escarpment parking the first car

we dressed for the cold

move to Irish Block road to start hiking into the forrest

deep snow, my feet were dry so I got to go first

to blaze a trail

some places were very deep

especially the fields

beautiful view though

first 2 km of our hike

 

Lambs

 

these little lambs are so cute

they're dancing through life

Missed snowstorm

 

a day after a storm that kind of missed us

there's a bit of clean up 

mainly because it was windy

not so Scenic Drive

up the Chedoke stairs a nice waterfall

the scenic drive is not very scenic in the fog

but the icy waterfalls are pretty

wonder if you can see this from very far away normally

looks kind of spooky

lots and lots of benches

we'll have to come back here on a clear day
