Inside there is a large variety of produce

sold fast

The trucks were driving off to deliver the sold hay and straw

at home we have a shed full of bales

likely sell some over the next months

we were interested in hay prices

people were prodding it, checking smell and moisture levels

there was quite a bit of interest

but most were lookers, not buyers

hay sells per lbs. usually

in this case delivery is free for the first 20 km

after $2 per km

Prices went between 5.5 and 9.5 per lbs. 

I expect a higher price later in the season

we likely check it out a few more times

big waves, it was cold to get in and cold to come out

just before Rien had to quickly run for a wave

see how much the sea has calved off the coast here

so he takes the beach route around the tree

Monarch butterflies flew away while we rode through 

apparently they liked these flowers

grapes with flowers planted at the head of the rows

Spray residue more apparent on the green grapes

we bought some wine but couldn't drink it with our food

some kind of license issue

Quite a few greenhouses near the ferry

amazingly it was Douwe Egberts coffee

this bull needed 2 people to show him around the 5th bull we

saw was a lot feistier yet. 

but by then we couldn't take pictures anymore

we didn't know a lot of people but met some students

and some nice farmers from outside of Mayfield

This guy obviously believed in the product they were trying to promote

3 babies baptized and we have connections to all 3

but we came for Emily

lots of kids in this church
