Netherlands day 1

I flew with jetairways from india

Went to pick up the Shaffers

so good to see them

we traveled by train

en just missed our connecting bus

made it to Nel and Arie's

it's Spring in Holland so time to plant cauliflower

a sure sign of Spring

I went hunting with my camera for swans

Looked at 3 places where I'd seen them before, no luck

finally found them in Huron county

yes they had bread

but this is why I would like to return

lunch looked like a great idea too

This was a long board walk

and still not quite long enough

about 4km road

nice clear sign

we hiked from P to P

There was a bit more snow then we anticipated

but it wasn't a problem

there wasn't much mud

so nice to be outside for a few hours

we hiked a bit of road

some rough fields

everything is a bit brown

this old school or church is a huge restoration project  

here we needed our yacktracks, we put them on

here we should have put them on too

didn't anticipate the icy snow

 to cover so much of this part of the trail

It was a great weekend

sometimes our heads got a little full

Luckily there were breaks

good food

fundraiser for our youth

time to socialize

these guys were very busy
