we celebrated with Dutch pastries

3rd part of the hike had hills

they were recently iceblading these gravel roads

lots of snowbanks here yet

roads are great in the winter

at the finish there was a place for 

cross country skiing and a portable

The off road part of the winter road hike

 

the off road apart is between 

the second P on the left and the 3rd P

here it really looks like a road piece

but it wasn't

this snow was deep but you didn't sink in to bad

we saw the cattails and wondered if we'd had to go back

but there was a board walk

Suelaine went first to poke the snow

to find some crevasses 

one time she found one by sinking in it quite deep

a bit of climbing

we made it

Road hike in 3 parts

 

This is where we went the previous time

still not a popular route, you have to break trail

not we hiked the next part

just road

look at the high snow banks

part 1 was from the right P to the 3rd P

but we skipped the off road due to warnings 

in the guide book about crevasses

this was a totally different kind

so much detail and colour, fun to do though

taking the staples out, lots of them

went to town to buy material

looking at the shape

looks pretty good but next time we make holes

 in the plywood for air coming out when you sit down

you don't need that with the previous material

Shrove Tuesday Pancakes

 

Pancakes fundraiser for youth missiontrip

it was a huge success

we missed this

Wind and snow

 

wind again

also blue sky

but the wind can make the roads miserable 

to drive

Birthday surprise

we went to Henriette for her birthday

I love her eggs, all kind of different ones

in the evening a surprise party

food was so nicely displayed

and a yummy cake
