Slide show evening

on Nel's birthday

we all ate together

and we had a slide show

some were oldies

we went through lots of slides

but at a speedy pace

some were cute

sometimes the projector miss functioned 

but overal it worked great

at the end we took some pictures

we went hiking

near Nijmegen

following green posts

often at the edge of the forest 

lots of steps, it's hilly there

sometimes a view of the smallest  town in the Netherlands

Persingen

we stopped for coffee at Val Monte at 11.15

but they didn't serve coffee until noon

so many big trees on this trail

beautiful Linden

this lane was supposed to lead to a house

but it was never build

drinking water tap

we tried coffee again at tante Koosje (it was after 12)

but they didn't open until 4.00

finally coffee at hotel 't Spijker

it's an old place established in 1751

beautiful and in hind sight a perfect for a stop

hiking the last part

het Pieterpad also runs through this area

we had some level parts

but this route is challenging

over 500 steps in the whole loop

we ended at the Duivelsberg

for big yummy pancakes

Koning's Dag

the king's birthday is celebrated with kids selling 

stuff down town

and a brass band playing songs

there was a duck race that my parents can see from 

their living room

and my sister's family had a games morning 

egg race

improvement from last year was that they were

not holding on to the eggs

to small to join yet, but still had fun

try to get the nail into the bottle

the big kids had fun too

lots of orange pastries for sale

very yummy

 

65 year wedding anniversary

the start of the party

 Anita was there

she just is missing in the picture

here she is sitting at the table

lots of my parents friends came

so many people took time to talk to them

they loved it

friends

and family

and we anticipate a growing family
