huge shopping centre

we went for coffee

at a chocolate place, yumm!

you see this a lot, many fences with lots of houses

maybe retirement or vacation communitees

this was at a school

recruits having rifel training

some cattle often sharing space with cattle Egrets

here on the left of the picture

Werner - Boyce state park

 

we went to this park because of 

our great experience at Merrit Island

this was very different

salt springs and inlets from the bay

lots of fish

and 1 manetee

an eagle nest

that was occupied

explanation about salt mining

we hiked all through the park

but the best visit is likely to go paddle a kayak

through the bays

Cape Canaveral

 

from Merrit Island we could zoom in

on what was happening at cape canaveral

quite far away, but kind of interesting

Ocean

there were lots

of big waves

playing

we had fun

Aligators

 

first Aligator we saw

on Merritt Island

 people gathered here, so we went to look

a mother Aligator

and babies

52 of them

kind of cute

at the resort there were Aligators too

apparently most waters have an aligator in them

Birds on Merritt island

 

so many birds

big flocks

different ducks

we see the cute little one

and along comes a high legged one

spoonbills

and kind of ugly birds

some hiding

otheres in full view

I think these are sand cranes

saw this sign later, but I think I had all 5

Wood stork

Great Egret

Roseat Spoonbill

Snowy Egret

Manetees at Meritt Island

 

this was a surprise

a whole lot of manetees

close enough for pictures

playing in the water

at the welcome centre they told us we could

see them "garenteed" 

at the observation dock

they were right
