90 and Market

She is 90

Later we went to Mirrel and enjoyed coffee either family 

The grandkids from my sister love it too

Outside in the sunshine 

Markets are popular 

Lots of different potatoes 
 

Arrived

We got in the airplane, had a window seat with extra leg room. After de-icing we left for the Netherlands 

It was clear in Toronto 

 And foggy in Amsterdam 

They dropped us at the farthest gate

On our way to de Lier

We’re off

We went with the bus to Toronto 

It worked great 

Lots of legroom 

 And we’re off

Januari thaw

It’s amazing how fast the snow disappeared 

 But it was sunny and +10 at the highest 

Where’s mom?

 We saw Esmee quite a few times, she was often very smiley only crying when we tried to feed her a bottle, she definitely preferred mom

Olga was preaching this Sunday in our church

Snowbanks

This is highway 23

No shoulder but impressive high snowbanks

Sometimes both sides

The parking lots have high snow mountains 

Lots of people on snowmobiles 

 

Cat

 We noticed a cat in our garage, Rien assumed in hitched a ride with the truck. We caught it in the life trap

When he dropped it back at the farm it seemed to belong there

Gingerbread House

The gingerbread house was a gift from Laura

We found a nice big plate to put it on

The trees made it look nice too

Time to decorate 

 Looks pretty good 

Blizzard

Sunday started with beautiful hoarfrost 

Temperatures went up to way above 0C

Then came flash freezing 

Power was out for hours

We hooked up the generator 

It became a blizzard

Lots of snow and wind

Huge snowbanks 

Lots of snow in the yard

Cold wind

The sheep are fine

The 7 chickens had 7 eggs as usual 

The milktruck was 4 hours late

Olga was supposed to go home on the 30th but getting stuck already in our yard

 Was a sign to stay one more day would be wise
