Noordam family visits

visited Hennie in their new house

it looked very nice

Most of the museum items had to go but they kept

so we caught up with family

They lit the Easter candle, after extinguishing the one from the previous year on Good Friday

a soprano was singing with a choir

My parents were on the bike

oma may be getting shorter

but she is still doing well

still living by herself

she loves to get flowers

so her yearly present is a bouquet every month

going to Vierpolders requires the crossing of the

All three last Monday visiting family

the Noordams, living in Vierpolders

they have 2 #LelyA4 volunteer milking systems

the haylage grass smelled very good

this is a #Lely machine we don't see at home

Achelse Kluis

we biked to the Achelse Kluis

It looked like a worthwhile visit

sometime I'd like to get a tour

This time we looked for the courtyard 

where they served Achel Trappist 

strange that that was such a huge part of a monastery making beer

But it tasted good

the Achelse Sluis is just across the Belgian border

a non event crossing the border these days

It used to be well protected

with life wire

on the way back we came past a piece that they had set up

as a demonstration 

Lots of people died crossing here

On the Bike or Fietsen

Lieke went along on the bike sitting behind oma

after several tries I got a good picture of the group following

Marije and me

we biked through towns where lots of people sat outside

on "terrasjes" patios to enjoy the sunshine

we biked a lot on "bikes only" paths

saw some "wild" cattle

at crossings there are numbered maps

so the idea is that you bike from number to number

we got lost 2x, they had changed the placing of the number we were after

and no map where there should have been one

and the numbers for the same site are differently numbered in Belgium

this is a border post, we were biking a bit along the border

we biked 58km instead of 43 that day

we never bike at home so I think we did well
