Wine it Up

we bottled some wine yesterday

in Mitchel

I had wine at a birthday party that I really liked

and it came from this place

Cabernet Sauvignon 

Felker's Falls

starting at Paramount Park Stoney Creek

we quickly found ourselves at Felker's Falls

Frozen Beauty

no snow on the ground here

but water was easier to spot due to being frozen

a different group then usual

looking up at Devil's Punchbowl

not easy to get closer

some sections we had quite the workout

we did see a train a little later

mostly we were in the shade

but out of the wind it was still pretty good

More Prickly Trees Removed

back at the Schoolhouse Farm

3 buckets full today

much more to do yet

But the weather is actually nice to do this job

Outside for a few Minutes

They love the sandbox

but we better take pictures fast

because it is quite cold and they won't stay long

Lake Effect

last night the snow started

there's quite a bit of lake effect snow 

all because we're close to the great lakes

Mount Nemo

people warned us about how slippery it was

but we'd put our icers on already

this was the most slippery part

steep rocky and fun

the view is fabulous

such a good day to be outside

On a clear day you see Toronto

glad for the chain to hold on to

Friday's Hike

we started at the Guelph Line

a very busy road

first a part in the field and Forrest 

then 4 km road

the more beautiful the estates

the less likely there is an off road trail

very pretty with the sun shining on the weeds

after Mount Nemo 2 km beside a gravel pit

but walking beside the road between fences

last 2 km had some very large houses

kind of fun for a change

The Back Field

Just before the creek is a sizable pond

The back field has a big island of trees in it

view towards the front

there's a shack in the bush

probably connected to Maple Syrup

beautiful mature trees
