Looking Back Shephela

We landed in Israel at 7am. After getting our stuff and clearing customs we were on our way with the bus
we were told to come in hiking gear and right away we went to our first hike in the Shepehela
The Shephela is where the Mountains meet the flat lands (the coastal plain)

We learned about following our Rabbi Todd and that our lives should be like standing stones
Standing stones were established at significant places
the idea was that when you saw one you would remember the story behind it
We should also share our stories, what drives us, our God given passions

This is David and Goliath area
The Israelites where on the high hill behind us
and the Philestines where were we are standing
There is the fertile valley in between

The stories of Shephela are about 2 different people and the important question is who is influencing who

our culture is not Christian at all and we the struggle.
Is our culture influencing  us or are we influencing our culture?

There are not many places you cannot walk
very few private lands and even if someone owns it
you may walk on the paths everywhere

and where it's hard to grow crops
sheep graze
here a mix with goats and sheep
