Day 12 Mount of Olives

Early morning, it's still quiet
we have a beautiful view over Jerusalem

The valley of dry bones

stones on graves
on anniversary on birthday
a stone to show you want to build on
what this person stood for

2000 years ago there were also trees on the temple mount
It's a garden
It's where heaven and earth met

from this distance the temple stairs don't look as solid

we talk about the "triumphal entry"
Jesus came as the lamb of God
who takes away the sins of the world
but people thought he came to fight the Romans
Jesus cried

it's becoming busy, more tourists and peddlers

There is no Garden of Gethsemane in the bible
there's the mount of olives, a press and a garden

very old olive trees are here

a bit busy

we move to a well maintained park

we talk about the cup of wrath
It's empty now because
Jesus emptied it

down the mount of olives

going into the city
by way of the sheep gate

pool of Bethesda area. hard to define
what's what, many things build on top of each other

church of Saint Ann (mother of Jesus)

via Delorosa with the stations of the cross

on purpose we have a late lunch so it's not
as busy as it could be

there are still lots of people
near the church of the sepulcher
the traditional and likely place
of the crucifixions of Jesus

we sing 'where you there"
in the basement
where you can still see the quarry
that the church was build over

walk to lunch outside old city
