Day 5 EnGedi

7am on the bus

not a very exciting campground

a Coney peeking over the wall

teaching about the timing of this:

John 7 - On the last and greatest day of the festival,
Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,
"let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
rivers of living water flow from within them."

Living water is water that comes directly from God
if you take a pail and carry it
it's not Living water anymore

Here there is lots of Living water
and we are still in the desert

Where there is water, there is life

king David lived at EnGedi when Saul was hunting him

moving up into the desert

these guys chose different hats to wear
Marcello Alex and Carter

we came to the EnGedi Spring
we were challenged to live our whole life as a Christian
to go "all in" not just our toes but all the way
so we got wet

and more followed

one lady not from our group asked
if this was a "holy site" for Christians

so I explained what we did

we walked down for lunch

a map of EnGedi

we were entertained by Ibex
The NIV translate Ibex - deer

wild life is only at En Gedi,
not at other places in the wilderness
That's why this may be the place
where Jesus was in the wilderness
Mark 1:
he was in the wilderness forty days,
being tempted by Satan.
He was with the wild animals

start hiking again

mother and daughter
Betts and Bella

at the end of the hike there was a waterfall
the biblical picture is:
God is living water

It was very refreshing

the north Carolina Group
