Day 9 Jordan Scythopolis

 

through a cow pasture we walk to the Jordan

we all find a rock to sit on

we get invited to "get off the bank"

Rien was quick

I think we all got wet

it was meaningful

Jesus invites us to join the mission

to become a kingdom of priests

we come to a gate, someone on a 

four-wheeler opens it for us

Will and Ethan 

we all sit in a gate complex

the gate is totally for show

there's no wall around this city

only if your status is high enough

you can enter through the gate

status is by money

Bella and Tatiana

we move a little bit

talk about how cities are organized

a Polis - city

Acropolis - high places

Necropolis - cemetery

we're going up

look around before we go to the top

to the Gilead mountains

then we are at the top and see a beautiful city

Scythopolis 

a school, bathhouse, gym area

where people would exercise and learn in the nude 

and if they feel like it the can go down the stairs

to the red light district

Do what ever feels good is the motto here

you better go to a city like this with wet feet

because it's so seductive 

we all love this place

the Greek part is mosaic 

Roman is paved with marble

walk to the theater
